Mecalac says its new Revotruck dumpers, built with a rotating cab and improved off-road capabilities, has started a work site revolution. The dumper has already won five awards, including a “Best of the Best” award from the Red Dot Design Award. The Revotruck is available in 6- and 9-tonne (6.6- and 9.9-U.S.-ton) models.

    Eliminating On-Site Danger

As one of the most effective ways to transport large quantities of material, dumpers are a vital piece of equipment on the jobsite, but that efficiency comes with risk. Nearly a third of all transport-related construction site accidents involve dumpers due to hauled materials obscuring operator visibility. The Revotruck was designed to solve this problem with 360-degree visibility and a rotating cab.

    About The Mecalac Revotruck

The Revotruck has a rigid chassis with four equal-sized wheels inspired by hill tractors, in which support points stay constant for increased safety. The central link that connects the two chassis sections allows up to 20 degrees of oscillation to follow the contours of the land independently and maintain traction on all terrain types. The steering mode can be changed to 2-wheel, 4-wheel, or crab steering, and the turning radius is halved compared to articulated dumpers, facilitating easier manoeuvrability in confined spaces.

Drivers can rotate the cab with the push of a button, enabling them to maintain correct posture and eliminating working positions that twist the back and neck. Operators can enter the cab through four large access points at each corner to ensure easy entry, no matter how the cab is oriented.

    The 6- and 9-t Revotruck models are powered by a 74-horsepower (55-kilowatt) engine and travel at 28 km/h (17.4 mph). The 6-t Revotruck has a maximum skip capacity of 3.3 meters3 (4.3 yards3), while the 9-t model’s skip holds 4.5 m3 (5.9 yd3).

"We are proud to have created this revolutionary dumper, which embodies our expertise and the Group's innovation,” says Mecalac Group Chairman Alexandre Marchetta. “In addition to its advanced technology, it provides concrete solutions to the challenges encountered in the field, illustrating our ability to understand our users and convert their needs and challenges into tangible solutions.”
